This summer, the Atlantic Ballet’s Ballet by the Ocean is back for its third season, and take this mermaid’s word for it – it’s a coastal New Brunswick experience you’ll want to add to your summer plans.
Last year was my second time attending Ballet by the Ocean and trust me when I say, it just keeps getting better and better every year.
And it was pretty epic the first year.
Tickets are now on sale for the 2023 Summer and Fall series, so I thought it would be the perfect time to share a look at my experience with Mama Mermaid last July. And yes, she loves it just as much as I do.
Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect!

What is Ballet by the Ocean?
Created by the Atlantic Ballet, it is an evening (or afternoon, if you choose the fall series) spent on the ocean watching an otherworldly ballet experience with choreography by Igor Dobrovolskiy on an outdoor stage on the southeast shores of New Brunswick. Only twenty minutes from Moncton!

Your evening includes tasting local wines and dining on a delicious tasting menu created by local renowned Chefs of Atelier Tony and Chef Gene Cormier. All dishes feature ingredients, produce, meats and seafood that are grown and cultivated right here in New Brunswick.
And you get to experience ALL of it – right here in New Brunswick, right on the ocean.
It’s a coastal dream and it’s our coastal dream.
Here’s a sneak peek at our evening!

The first course was a cold soup (remember, we went in the heat of July) and it was so refreshing. The perfect start to the evening!

The second course was a mushroom arancini ball and oh em gee – it might have been the best arancini ball I’ve ever tasted. I think Mama Mermaid and I both agreed – we could have had eaten these all night!

The main course was an absolutely delicious seafood chowder featuring fish, shrimp, scallops and mussels. The portion of fresh seafood was so generous and I think everyone may or may not have considered licking the bowl.

If dessert looks like a flavour explosion to you, you’re absolutely right. The cotton candy was such a fun touch and the fresh strawberries, were incredible. It was the perfect, light dessert to end an incredible meal and experience.

Ballet by the Ocean is a 10/10 New Brunswick experience and I could not recommend it more to anyone looking for an inspiring evening of art, dance, and culinary magic on the ocean.
Tickets are on sale for their 2023 Summer Season, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 5 pm from July 5th to July 29th and for their 2023 Fall Season, Saturdays at 2pm from September 2nd to 23rd. Swim over to their website to purchase your tickets here.
This season features NEW choreography, NEW music, and a NEW local tasting menu!
It’s not to be missed!

Disclaimer: This experience was kindly gifted to me last summer by Atlantic Ballet, however, all opinions are my own and you bet your bottom sand dollar, we loved every moment of the evening!
