Exploring the Magnetic Hill Zoo, New Brunswick

East Coast Mermaid at the Magnetic Hill Zoo

Every Mother’s Day weekend, my mother and I have a tradition that involves going to our local zoo, the Magnetic Hill Zoo, and spending our day squealing over every single cute and ugly animal. Because yes, even the ugly ones are squeal worthy.

Have you ever met an emu (or rheas as we call ours) or an ostrich or a slow moving tortoise?

This year, we had the most picture perfect weather and the animals were just as entertaining as ever. I mean, every year there’s usually a handful of animals that are simply a riot. This time around, I’m going to give the monkeys (especially the baby), the bears, and the lions all the credit. They were hilarious.

Here are just a few of my favorite photos from the day.

If you live in the area (or are planning to visit New Brunswick this summer) a visit to the zoo is a must for all ages. Their new exhibits and interactive displays are awesome and will definitely appeal to the little ones. Or the 32 year olds who see boxes and immediately feel the need to climb on them. As seen in the first photo of this post. Life is too short to not have fun.

What is your favorite animal when you go to the zoo?

I realize Wednesday nights are usually one of my monthly series posts and if you’re super in-tune with my blog, you know there should have been a Book of the Month coming tonight. Yet again, life has been far too busy for me to curl up and properly enjoy a book. Also, I have some BIG things coming for the blog over the next month and I’ll be switching the series up a bit (all for the better, I promise!) Stay tuned for that AND to never miss a beat (or a post) make sure to subscribe to the blog today!
