Uncovering diners in Sackville, New Brunswick

Alright, let’s cut right to the chase here.

I was never a fan of the Archie comics, but I’m beyond obsessed with the show featuring the Archie characters set in the small town of the same name. With Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and more sipping on shakes and ordering burgers at the town’s beloved Pop’s Chok’lit Shoppe diner – I’ve had small town diners, burgers, and shakes on my mind since the show’s debut.

So last weekend, D and I took a drive to Sackville, New Brunswick for a delicious lunch at the town’s beloved diner – Mel’s Tearoom.

From the minute we walked in, we were hit with that oldie’s diner vibe I was in search of. Complete with milkshake bar, retro stools and lighting, booths throughout the diner and a classic jukebox – Mel’s is the real deal.

And the burgers and shakes? To die for!

Check out a few snapshots from our outing – if you’re curious, I had the Guacamole Burger and D had the Mexican Burger. Both were delicious and the fresh handcut fries were such a treat.

Mel’s is located in the heart of downtown Sackville and only a 30 minute drive from the city. It’s TOTALLY worth the trip.

PS: We didn’t have dessert, but I’ve heard their pies are divine!
