It doesn’t get much better than beach sandwiches and a shoreline all to yourself ⛱️

If you’re visiting Grand Manan Island this summer, a beach day on White Head Island is a must.

🥪 Pick up beach sandwiches. I recommend North Head Bakery or Newton’s for fresh made, grab and go, toss in the cooler.

⛴️ Catch the ferry at 10am or 11:40am from Ingalls Head.

🌊 Spend the afternoon on the beach, look for seaglass, walk out to Long Point Lighthouse.

⛴️ Catch the 4:30pm ferry back to Grand Manan.

It’s the most perfect beach day 🤌🏻

Know Before You Go:

⛴️ The ferry is free and can be busy. You cannot make reservations so go early to secure your spot.
⛽️ There is no gas station on the island.
🍔 There are no formal restaurants but the WH Community Centre serves burgers, hot dogs, etc.
🚽 Need to pee? The Community Centre has a public bathroom.
🐋 Watch for whales and marine life from the shore and ferry!

And of course, have a splashing good time!

Last night, just a minute away from home and the wharf, this humpback decided to put on a spectacular show for us at sunset on the water.

It was one of the most incredible whale encounters of my life (and you know I spend a lot of time on the water with whales!)

As Dan put it, “That was practically in our front yard.”

We’ve had some epic adventures over the last five years.
