You know that I absolutely love life on the water.
So when the opportunity to stay in a fishing boat turned luxury accommodation washed ashore, I couldn’t resist!
Yes, you read that right.
A real lobster fishing boat that once sailed the high seas is now on land and transformed into the most dreamy accommodation, complete with a beautiful kitchen, bathroom, cozy sleeping quarters and a fabulous deck and hot tub.
And I couldn’t resist sharing my experience with all of you.

Rest A’Shore is the newest addition to the wildly popular Creekside RNR Luxury Glamping located in beautiful coastal Cocagne, New Brunswick. For years, friends and members of the East Coast Mermaid tide pool have raved about Creekside RNR and I was so excited to finally get to check it out!
Rest A’shore JUST opened in June and I was thrilled to be one of the first guests to experience it!
Creekside RNR is a four season luxury glamping resort that is open all year round and located less than 30 minutes from Moncton/Dieppe. Making it the perfect escape for locals, who just want to escape the city.
You can rest assured that Rest A’Shore has absolutely everything you need to relax and unwind.
And when I say that I slept as deeply as I do when I’m near the ocean, I mean it.

Rest A’Shore is on its own away from other glamping domes and is accessible via a short trail (less than one minute) from the parking lot to the boat. Wagons are provided for bringing things to and from your car, which was incredibly helpful for someone like me that packed as though I was setting sail for a month at sea and who brought a full size Yeti cooler.
It’s nestled by a serene pond and fountain which creates the dreamiest ambiance. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when the landscaping is completed. It’s going to be so pretty!

There is a large boat deck with bar stools that overlooks your fabulous electric hot tub and is great for entertaining or curling up with your morning coffee. For an entrepreneur on the go like me, I really enjoyed working from this spot! And yes, if you’re thinking about escaping to Rest A’Shore for a work retreat or to pen your next novel – the wifi is fantastic.
And the hot tub?
I can’t say enough about the hot tub. What a treat! It’s how I started my morning and ended my days, watching the sunset submerged in bubbles. It was absolutely perfect and I’ve been dreaming about it ever since.
Rest A’Shore also offers a cozy private fire pit with your own wood, a hammock amongst the trees, and your very own Kamado Joe charcoal BBQ grill. I was traveling solo on this trip, so I didn’t fire up the grill, but if you’re into grilling, it’s an excellent addition to your stay.
And speaking of cooking. The Rest A’Shore kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. It offers a large fridge, toaster, toaster oven, and stove top with two burners. While you’ll want to bring necessary ingredients for whatever you may want to cook during your stay, you will find olive oil, Himalayan salt and pepper available. Love your morning coffee or tea? They offer a number of options for brewing your morning drink of choice, including fresh ground coffee in reusable tins that was delicious.

Don’t feel like cooking on vacation? Creekside RNR has a vast menu of items you can order while staying at Rest A’Shore including charcuterie options, oysters, and lobster dinners. You can browse items available for ordering online via the Creekside Shop here.
As mermaids do, I traveled with my own lobster, tin can fish, and charcuterie, so I didn’t order from their Charcuterie To Go but everything on the list looked amazing. There are also a number of delicious local takeout options to choose from too in the area.

You might assume that a bathroom on a fishing boat would be small but this bathroom was an excellent size and had everything I needed, including two cozy Creekside RNR bathrobes and special towels for the hot tub. Both of which were much appreciated. Trust me when I say that I lived in my bathing suit and bathrobe for the last 24 hours that I was staying there.

The bedroom! Where do I even start with the Rest A’Shore sleeping quarters. I had THE best sleep both evenings. I kept the curtains open and loved looking at the stars and moon through the boat’s windows. The fountain outside creating the perfect ambiance and I kid you not, I honestly felt like I was sleeping at sea. It was truly magical. And the mattress, which is 100% Canadian made, was so comfy.
If you’re traveling with little pirates or mermaids, there are two twin beds in the head of the perfect that your littles will be talking about for years to come. It was so cute and cozy.

As someone who lives and breathes the coastal life and aesthetic, I can’t say enough about the nautical touches throughout Rest A’Shore. It was just the right amount of nautical accents and it was decorated beautifully. I wanted to move right in!

If you’re booking a trip to Rest A’Shore at Creekside RNR Luxury Glamping, you may be tempted to not even leave the property and I don’t blame you one bit! They also have a Nordic Spa on-site that I definitely plan to check out this fall, and you can rent kayaks, paddle boards and more to explore the neighbouring trails and waterways.
But if you do decide to explore the region, may I share a few of my favourite mermaid haunts in the area? If you’re craving fried clams, Chez Leo in Shediac Bridge or Pirate de la Mer or Ponzi’s in Bouctouche are three of my favourite spots for delicious fried clams. All three locations serve delightful lobster rolls too!
If you’re splashing into Bouctouche, a visit to la Dune de Bouctouche is a must – it’s one of the most beautiful beaches around. Plan to visit the Bouctouche Farmers’ Market from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm every Saturday to shop local vendors and sample of the most delicious foods. And a day trip to Pays de la Sagouine for a true Acadian experience is always a fun time. When the sun sets, experience Akadi Lumina, the most magical new attraction around these waters.
And of course, you’re just a short drive away from Shediac, the Lobster Capital of the World and home to Parlee Beach Provincial Park and the always fun, Pointe du Chene Wharf which offers restaurants, entertainment, boat cruises, shops and more.

So what do you say? When are you booking your stay at Rest A’Shore?
I can a’shore you – you won’t be disappointed!
Disclaimer: I was very kindly hosted by Creekside RNR, however all opinions are my own and my opinion is that I am absolutely IN LOVE with this accommodation and will definitely be booking a return trip very, very soon! It’s the perfect accommodation for a mermaid!
