Ho, Ho, Ho and a Bottle of Rum!

This holiday season, I’m mixing a drink fit for a pirate in our coastal home, and if you’re a fan of spicing things up over the holiday season with a bit of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum from @anbl, then oh my RUM-pum-pum-RUM - you’ll want to try this cocktail!

Holiday Pirate Punch

1.5 oz of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
3 oz of Cranberry Juice
Lime Wedges
Ice Cubes
Top up with Ginger Beer

🍹Pour your spiced rum over ice cubes in your favourite holiday cocktail glass!
🍹Squeeze in some fresh lime juice.
🍹Add cranberry juice and stir your cocktail.
🍹Top up your drink with a splash of Ginger Beer!

To add a little extra something, something - I made ice cubes with New Brunswick Wild Blueberries and served with a sprig of rosemary!

Now before you sail off to try this at home!

I’m competing with other NB creators this year for ANBL’s Annual Holiday Cocktail Competition. We’ve each made a holiday-themed cocktail using spirits from the Bar in a Box and over the next few days, I invite you to vote on your favorite cocktail for a chance to win $100 to ANBL and ANBL will also donate $100 to a charity of your choice.

And if my cocktail wins - ANBL will donate $100 to my favorite charity, the Canadian Whale Institute, helping whales in distress right here in New Brunswick.

New Brunswick isn’t only famous for its iconic Bay of Fundy or our fresh seafood – did you know that our wild blueberries are an icon in themselves?

Our province is home to over 175 wild blueberry farms that produce, package, and sell 50 million pounds of wild blueberries annually across Atlantic Canada and over 30 countries worldwide.

That’s right, it’s not just our lobsters and oysters going global!

What’s so special about them?

Allow me to spill the chowder with a few facts!

🫐Wild Blueberries are a superfruit!
🫐They contain 2X the amount of antioxidants of cultivated blueberries.
🫐Their deep blue skin is full of anti-inflammatory properties with multiple health benefits.
