Day tripping to Portland Head Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine

East-Coast-Summer-Series-Cape-Elizabeth

As I mentioned in my first Maine post, our time spent in Cape Elizabeth, home to Portland Head Lighthouse, was so epic – it simply needed its very own post. In fact, the scenery was so rad, we went back the same night to take at least a hundred more photos at sunset. As one does.

First opened in 1791, Portland Head Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world and it’s the oldest lighthouse in Maine. Located in Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth (just minutes from Portland) you can also explore the rocky coast line, the ruins of the beautiful Goddard mansion, and Fort Williams.

It’s also a fantastic location for photoshoots with your favorite humans. Always.

Here are just a few (but really, a lot) of photos from the perfect visits to Cape Elizabeth.
