It’s been a long standing Mother’s Day tradition that mom and I plan a trip to the Magnetic Hill Zoo for the day. It’s honestly one of my favorite zoo trips of the year, because the animals are starting to get frisky, therefore they’re absolutely entertaining on all levels and the weather is always beautiful in May.
This year was no exception. Here’s a look at our 2017 Mother’s Day the zoo, with a few new appearances by some baby monkeys and CAMELS!
If you’ve ever read one of my zoo posts – and there have been MANY zoo posts – you know the rheas are my FAVORITE animal in the park. They never disappoint and they’re so ugly cute, I love them so much.
If you’re a fan of big cats, Magnetic Hill Zoo’s cat displays are amazing. As you can see in the photos above, you can get super up close and personal with the tigers, which gets extra entertaining when they’ve got their eyes on that one kid that won’t stop banging on the glass.
Look closely. Can you spot the two little babies?
The babies are one of the BEST parts about visiting the zoo in May. Warning: your heart may overflow from all the cuteness.
The otters were absolutely hamming it up for the camera, which was exciting since I had my new camera on me. I’d say these cuties made some pretty adorable subjects.
One of the other highlights of our visit was definitely the camels. They were SO cute and friendly. Make sure you don’t miss them – they’re up by the lions and easy to miss if you don’t spot them in their field.
With the perfect weather and great company, a day trip to the Magnetic Hill is one of the funnest things you’ll do in Moncton this summer.
So if you’re a local, make a plan to attend. Visiting our little East Coast city this summer? Add the Magnetic Hill Zoo to your bucket list!
