Farewell to Nova Scotia

There’s a classic song that will always take me back to my university years in the port city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. “Farewell to Nova Scotia” will not only cause me to break out into a loud sing-along, swing my beer into the air to scream ‘sociable’ and maybe even dance the jig – it’s always how I feel when saying goodbye to one of my favorite cities in Canada after an amazing weekend. It always feels like it will be forever before I make it back, even though reality has always proven otherwise.

Last weekend, after what can only be described as the most epic week leading up to that Friday, I made the trek to the Halifax to spend the weekend with one of my favorite humans – the lovely S. We brunched, we shopped, we visited quaint little seaside towns – we laughed. A lot. When life throws you unexpected perfection, gushing and flailing with a best friend is a must and we did just that.

Here are just a few of my favorite snapshots from an amazing S & C weekend. IMG_6652 brunch @ the Coastal Cafe – this is their famous los huevos rancheros IMG_6890 seaside town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia IMG_6888IMG_6889IMG_6891IMG_6892IMG_6698IMG_6893IMG_6894 the Ironworks Distillery with the most delicious spirit sampling IMG_6896 spotted in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia  IMG_6897 the famous Peggy’s Cove IMG_6898IMG_6899IMG_6900IMG_6901IMG_6902IMG_6903IMG_6905 our evening attire for a night on the city

To those of you who love Halifax, what are your favorite spots in the city?

And to Halifax and S – as always, thanks for the truly epic memories x
