Earlier in the summer, I was overjoyed to share with all of you lovers of romance novels one of favourite humans, the insanely talented Victoria Denault’s, first book: One More Shot. You can check out all my thoughts here. Ahead of the release of her THIRD novel in the Hometown Players series in December, I just had to make sure that all of you knew about the second book in the series: Making a Play.
If you loved Jordan and Jessie’s story in One More Shot, you are going to LOVE Luc and Rose’s story in Making a Play. Also, I may be biased, but Luc’s last name is Richard so right there, this book is winning.
When Luc decides to spend the off-season back in Silver Bay, Maine, he reconnects with Rose who has secretly been in love with him since their childhood. This summer though, she’s ready to prove to him that she isn’t the innocent small town girl he once knew.
As per the book’s synopsis – “Off the ice Luc doesn’t do games, but this new Rose makes him feel like playing a little dirty. If he’s really got a shot at her heart then he’s not just playing to win. He’s playing for keeps…”
I know that I’m slightly biased, but I cannot stress how much I flipping love this book. I don’t want to give too much away, but between the steamiest love scenes and Luc’s smooth french lines that go straight to my (and surely your) heart – Making a Play is the perfect book for you to curl up with and warm up with this November ahead of the Final Move’s release in December.
Bonus: You get plenty of Jessie and Jordan appearances too!
