If you know me well, you’ll know that I’m not a pie person.
Ok, so I do eat some pies but I’m very selective about the pies I eat and by selective, I mean if they’re not key lime pie or coconut cream, I will usually pass on dessert.
And then if it’s key lime pie dipped in chocolate, I get a really crazy look in my eyes and I’m pretty much in heaven.
In all my thirty years, having not been a pie eater, the idea of baking pies wasn’t high on my list. But a girl can only read so many lifestyle blogs and see talented bloggers posting photos of their perfectly presented apple pies before she cracks under the pressure and screams: So help me God I will learn how to bake an apple pie and it will be magnificent.
Which is exactly what I did.
After years of talking about it. Years of saying “it’s on my bucket list to learn how to bake a perfect apple pie” and years of people looking at me like I’m crazy – who has pie baking on their bucket list?
I’m here to say I did it and a week later, I’m still hearing good things from family and friends.
Here are a few lessons I learned along the way AND the amazing recipe for you to replicate if you so desire!
So next time you need to impress someone with your pie baking skills, give this recipe a try and let me know how it turned out in the comments below!
